The Gospel from God

  1. How did God previously reveal the good news? (1:2)

He promised it previously through the prophets in the holy Scriptures.

  1. What is the previously revealed good news? (1:3-4)

Concerning God’s Son, who was 1) born of the seed of David in His humanity & 2) Identified unmistakably by the resurrection that He was the Son of God in power. 

  1. What was the means by which Jesus was designated the Son of God in power? (1:4c)

By the Spirit of Holiness was appointed or designated the Son of God.

  1. What is identity of seed of David and the Son of God? (1:4d)

Jesus Christ our Lord!

  1. What did Paul receive from Jesus Christ our Lord because of His work? (1:5a)

Grace and apostleship

He was eager to preach the Gospel to them who are in Rome.

Because Paul wasn’t ashamed of the Gospel and for TWO REASONS: 1.  The Gospel is the Power of God for salvation for the believer AND 2. In the Gospel the righteousness of God is UNCOVERED (revealed).
